01 How to maintain the crocodile leather watchband?

The “crocodile rubber” design has been adopted in many VAGENARI series (referring to that crocodile leather is used on the front of the watchband, and natural rubber covers the back of the watchband). Adopting this design makes the watchband more fashionable, which can meet customers’ aesthetic needs. It also adds to the purchasing options for watch lovers who enjoys the crocodile leather. As for the question of caring for the crocodile leather, it can be summarized as follows:

a. The crocodile leather should avoid from being stained

In case of stains on the crocodile leather, do not use chemical solvents, alcohol, or ordinary leather care solutions because such solutions will do harm to the crocodile leather and damage the luster of the protein surface, resulting in discoloration. Do not polish with shoe polish or wax. Only professional leather care agents and a sponge should be used to gently wipe the surface of the crocodile leather and remove the dirt from the pores. The lanolin and palm juice ingredients in such agent can better protect the leather, hence restoring the lost flexibility of the crocodile leather.

b. Cleaning the crocodile leather if dirtied.

If the leather is damped or mildewed from rain, a soft and dry cloth can be used to wipe off any water or mildew stains. If drinks get on the leather, it should be immediately dried with a clean cloth or sponge, and then wiped with a damp cloth. After that, the leather should be dried naturally and it must not be blown with a dryer. If the leather is stained with grease, it can be wiped off with dry cloths, and the residual grease can be left to fade naturally, or a cleaner can be used to clean the leather. Talcum powder and chalk ash can also be used to reduce the grease, but water should be avoided at all costs.

c. Daily maintenance of the crocodile leather.

Leather goods should be cared for with the leather maintenance solution. The maintenance solution should be applied to the edge of the watchband and other inconspicuous areas to test whether it would cause damage.

d. Storing of the crocodile leather.

Leather goods should avoid direct sunlight or other heat sources to avoid deformation, cracks, and discoloration. If there are cracks on the leather, use a cloth to pick up a small amount of the special oil solution and gently wipe the leather with the cloth.

e. Prohibitions for crocodile leather.

Do not wipe the leather with solvent-based care solution, such as liquid containing alcohol, which will cause irreversible damages to the crocodile watchband. Avoid scratching the crocodile leather, and keep it away from any chemicals, such as perfume.

f. Recommended care products

We recommend “French SAPHIR Crocodile Skin Treatment Oil”.

g. Suggestions on wearing habits

Do not wear them more than once every three days so that they dry thoroughly between uses. Of course, If you do not want to change the watchband every day, you need at least three to six watches.

02 About VAGENARI quality insurance:
Rubber watchbands are consumables, not durable goods. Therefore, there is no post-service for rubber watchband. It can only be maintained in advance to minimize the wear and tear, and extend the service life. In general, the service life of the rubber watchband can be up to several years if it avoided damaged by sharp objects and 360-degree rotation of the fragile connecting parts (e.g., tape protruding, buckle link mouth position, etc.). We will provide free replacement if non-human-induced quality problems occur within one year.
03 About the physical properties of the rubber watchband:
According to the manufacturing process for the rubber watchband material, the color of the band is made by toning. VAGENARI is more expensive partly because of the cumbersome toning procedure. However, it has a very consistent quality. In terms of the physical properties of rubber watchband material, rubber powder will fall off the rubber after friction, and a small amount of relatively brighter color (such as red) will stain the cuff, which is normal and does not fall under product quality problems.
04 How to clean the yellowing white rubber watchband?
White rubber watchband with stainless steel metal has an ethereal and pure feeling. It looks beautiful. However, as we all know, white objects are difficult to clean once they get dirty, not to mention the yellowing. In fact, there are two kinds of yellowing for a rubber watchband: One is due to with something else, while the other is due to the natural change occurring to the material itself caused by oxidation or friction. For the latter, unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to remedy the watchband. We can either continue wearing it or replace the yellowing watchband with a new one because the yellowing is caused by air oxidation and cannot be reversed. In other word, the yellowing cannot be removed. Regrettably, even if forcibly bleached, the watchband will lose its original beauty. Although yellowing rarely occurs to some rubber watchbands of the world-famous brands for the anti-oxidant ingredients added, with the watchband exposed under the blazing sunlight or placed in places with mothballs due to carelessness, the watchband can only be replaced if it yellows. We recommend purchasing a watch with black band, which will effectively eliminate the problem. What’s more, watches with black bands can look good when they match with suitable clothes. For the former, an eraser is only needed to clean the band. Gently rub the watchband with the eraser. However, due to the dust accumulated on the watchband, it will seem dirtier at first. Therefore, you need to be patient. You can also gently wipe the watchband with a small dollop of toothpaste. If that does not work, you can substitute it with soluble alcohol. Depending on the materials that has dyed the watchband, this method might not work. But, it never hurts to try. If you sweat a lot or work in the sun a lot, please do not buy a white rubber watchband. It will be better to buy a black one. Try other styles once in a while, and you might discover a new self.
05 How to maintain the rubber watchband?
Cleaning and maintenance of the rubber watchband: 1. The watchband should avoid contact with acidic substances, for example, chemical products, acid and alkali corrosion products, cosmetics, etc. 2. Generally, the watchband should be replaced every 1 to 2 years after purchase if it is worn frequently. 3. For a sports-loving owner, the natural lifespan of the watchband will be shortened if it comes into frequent contact with sweat. 4. Cold and large temperature differences will accelerate the aging of the watchband. 5. Please do not expose the watchband to the sun for a long period of time, and do not forcefully bend and pull the watchband frequently. 6. The rubber watchband should be washed with soapy water once a week or once every two weeks. 7. The watchband should avoid being scratched by sharp objects. 8. In case the watchband needs to be washed, it is recommended to soak the watchband in boiling hot water with detergent for about 15 minutes, and then in cold water for about 15 minutes. 9. Gently wash the watchband in water. First, wash the surface of the watchband and remove the dirt in the gap of the watchband.
06 About vagenari rubber materials
Fluororubber (FKM): Fluororubber is a synthetic polymer elastomer containing fluorine atoms on the carbon atoms of the main chain or side chain. Fluororubber is a kind of synthetic rubber designed for high-temperature operation. It has excellent chemical resistance, heat resistance and oil resistance, and can be used in the environment above 200 ° C for a long time Product application: Because fluororubber has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, oil resistance, high vacuum resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and resistance to a variety of chemicals, it has been applied to modern aviation, missiles, rockets, aerospace, naval ships, atomic energy and other advanced technologies, as well as automobile, shipbuilding, chemistry, petroleum, telecommunications, instruments, machinery and other industrial fields; Such as seals, vacuum molding parts, high-temperature resistant rubber pipes, chemical resistant sealing materials, and automobile fuel resistant sealing materials.
